Grant's Bristolian accent

In Gunga Din you can hear traces of Grant's Bristolian accent coming through his cockney - it really jumps out where his Cutter is arguing with McChesney about bringing Ballantine on an expedition and say "Versus that, you can't think of a single argument" - he says "Vrrrsus that..."

'Where was this murder committed?' - 'San Francisco. Last night.' - 'Who was murdered?' - 'I was.'

Since I'm not British, I wasn't sure what accent he was using, but I did notice that he left off beginning consonants on some words.
