So, there's a character in here named 'Crosby'?

Very amusing, since Bob Hope made this movie right before he started working as a team with Bing Crosby, making those "Road To.." movies. In fact that was Hope's next movie after this one: The Road to Singapore(1940).

I'm not aware of Hope and Crosby appearing together in anything before 1940, so it really caught my attention to hear the name "Crosby" in this film. Maybe they knew what was coming?

Didn't realize it when I made my initial post, but I just noticed this in the Trivia Section:

Many people believe that the lawyer's name (Crosby) is an in-joke reference to the Bob Hope/Bing Crosby pairing. In fact, it's a coincidence; this was the character's name in the stage play as well as the two previous film versions. Moreover, Hope and Crosby did not make a film together until Road to Singapore (1940) the following year.

So, the name "Crosby" appearing in here was pure coincidence!

'Omen' sounds threatening, and Hope/Crosby is only threatening to kill you with laughter.

There is a character named Crosby in the 1927 silent version, too.
