Who wouldn't want a family like that?

I think we'd all love if we had a family who really understood the pursuit of happiness and focused on that instead of making more money than you'll ever need and working so hard that you kill yourself reaching the top. You know we all have some relatives who are like that but the Sycamore/Vanderhof family, the whole clan is like that, there are no rich naysayer relatives who click their tongues at the family and put them down for what they'd do. It's too bad we can't all have a family like the Sycamores, what's everybody else think?

In a modern film they'd probably still have servants though.

In a modern film - if they did have servants - then that would mean that someone in the family WAS concerned about making money.

I doubt they'd be concerned about it, but they DID make money. Grandpa made money off his stamp collections, Paul and Mr. Depinna made money off of the fireworks, Alice made money off working as a secretary, and Essie and Ed probably made something off of her candy as well.
