Wonderful escapism
With everything that was good in this world going down the drain its nice to have a movie like this to escape to. This is one of those movies that lets you lose yourself. A cast of characters who support each other. The only villain (Margaret Hamilton) is likeable in her villainess and an America that still believed in real family values (not the hypocritical ones of the Family Value crew now). Who wouldn't want Fay Bainter for their mother? And who wouldn't want to live in that beautiful old house that they fixed up for $500.??? Just a great movie for a rainy day.
