Columbia's Restored Version on DVD

As Frank Capra said in his autobiography, he cannot think of any other actor to portray Robert Conway except Ronald Colman. After watching the film on the restored version by Columbia on DVD, he was right. Columbia did a wonderful job on this restored version and we are truly grateful for that. The anecdotes and alternate versions of the ending are also included here. The rest of the cast are superb in this movie and it is truly a Hollywood classic!

Is this DVD a totally restored version, or does it contain "stills" where the live footage had been? Also, where is a good, inexpensive source for this film?
Does anyone know where I could find a copy of "Outward Bound", the 1930 allegory?
Thanks!

It does use "stills" where live footage should be and some of the recently found footage is very noticably different (as it looks worse than the rest of the movie). I still found the movie to be very good and it didn't distract much from the viewing experience.

I have a copy of Outward Bound which I recorded off TV a long time ago. It was remade in 1944 as Between Two Worlds, which also has never been on video, and I like it. Why are there so many interesting classics that have never been released???

The Lost Horizon-DVD costs only 29 kr in Sweden (29 kr = about $3 or $4)!

They had a full soundtrack, and were short six minutes of film. It allows the full soundtrack to be used.

And, as others have said, a good restoration. Thanks, Columbia.

I didn't find the stills distracting at all. I thought they did a wonderful job of the restoration.
