I love this film, and I love the book even more. Though I'm pretty sick of remakes and generally don't like how many seem to have little respect for the classic nature of the original version, some films have room to be remade. I think Lost Horizon, if carefully done with respect, and without a bunch of modern attitudes and dialog, could and should be remade. Perhaps Tom Hanks could do justice as Conway, perhaps Steven Spielberg could do it justice directing. For some reason, I feel more comfortable with Hanks as Conway than Spielberg as director, but who knows. Any other thoughts??

I would prefer Harrison Ford or Richard Gere as Conway. How about David
Carradine as the High Lama?

HHmm, yeah, somehow I think I could also see Ford or Gere as Conway. Not sure about Carradine as the High Lama. Don't know if he could come off as gentle enough after all these years of playing villains.
