Sci-Fi?

Is this film really catagorizeable as Sci-Fi. My understanding of the sci-fi genre is a film of fantasy with strongly scientific overtones or setting. This obviously does not comply with Lost Horizon but different people may have different perspectives to select genres. What's your opinion on this? Should the Sci-Fi genre be dropped from this film's genres? I think so but as I thought the subject was open for debate I decided to hold submitting an update.

I agree that the Sci-Fi genre should be dropped for Lost Horizon. It definitely fits the Fantasy designation, but not Sci-Fi. I think people intermix the two genres because movies & books will often contain both elements. They are two quite different genres though and I think the differentiations should be stressed. Science isn't a storytelling tool in Lost Horizon.

The only thing I might relate it to Sci-Fi is the ageing process.
