What did you rate 'Lost Horizon' (1937)?

Frank Capra directed this utopian fantasy based on James Hilton's novel. Ronald Colman stars as a British diplomat who is kidnapped, along with four other people, and taken to a seeming paradise called Shangri-La.

You can see this as an inspiring testament to faith and hope, or as shallow wish-fulfillment. I see it as the former and rated it a 10, which I don't often give a movie. This is something I'll watch again and again.

Justin,

I agree with you. It is sad that what the state of the world that the lama said existed then,
greed, violence, etc., still exists today. When enough people want whats right
and decent, I think it will happen. I hope so anyway.

I can't imagine such a Utopia ever existing; but it's human nature to dream of impossible things--and sometimes getting them.

I rated it 10. What a classic! I have not yet seen Capra movie that is bad.
