Hilton's Utopia vs. Heinlein's Utopia

James Hilton worte Lost Horizon in 1933. Robert Heinlein wrote, For Us The Living, in 1937, yet, it was not published until 2003. I would recommend reading the two as interesting corollaries. Heinein's utopia is described circa year 2086 and has interesting ideas on social constructs and economic theory that in some ways may be of interest today. Some quite humorous.

BTW, great user name.

Heinlein gets quoted so much as some sort of Grand Prophet these days, particularly by certain political types online, that's it's getting hard for me to enjoy his science fiction anymore. Which is too bad, because he was a hell of a storyteller.

I disagree with you, but I'm pretty sure you're not Hitler.
