Bonita Granville
...was remarkable as the psycho-child, Mary Tilford. I'm sure she got lots of "poison pen" letters after this movie was released, but grew up to be a wonderful actress---she had a great start!

shareShe certainly deserved her best supporting actress Oscar nomination.
shareI came on here to say the same thing (and she probably should have WON it).
Both her and Marcia Mae Jones (Rosalie) performed better than the leads and seemed to be effortless in their portrayals.
I thought bonita gave the strongest performance out of the whole cast. I despised her character by the films end. wonderful acting.
shareLook for her film "the beloved brat" her character is even worse and Bonita chews the scenery like a termite Ion acid.
shareThe original "bad seed!" Amazing the entire performance in that later movie originated right here.
