Prince Baron and Princess Aura What Happened?

Does anyone know why the original Prince Baron and Princes Aura didn't appear in Flash Gordon Conquers the Universe? ... I really liked Baron and Aura and their replacement really sucked. I imagine the original actors in the last film instead of those two wormy actors they got to replace them ... I just don't understand that ... the replacement for Dale wasn't that hot either, but not as noticeable as Baron and Aura.

And what happen to the other characters like King Volton? ... and the Lion Prince .. Thor ... It would have been nice to have them in the last movie ... So if anyone has any tasty trivia on this subject please post.

It's Prince Vultan and Prince Thun.

I have no definite knowledge, but I suspect the actors weren't available at the time. More often than not, it's as simple as that. They may not have been under contract any longer or may have been involved in other pictures. It wasn't uncommon to recast in movie serials, as sequels weren't generated overnight.

I think it was King Vultan, if I remember.

As it stands, only Buster Crabbe, Frank Shannon and Charles Middleton did all three serials. And I agree that the last entry did suffer. Priscilla Lawson was quite interesting as Aura, but not so much the actress that replaced her in part three.

Yeah, I meant to just correct the Thor bit; but got a bit mixed up. In the strip it was usually just Vultan, King of the Hawkmen; I don't remember the serial well enough. The Filmation cartoon may have used Prince Vultan a time or two.
