Would Van Helsing Treat Some Differently?

I was wondering if, when Dr. Garth explained to Van Helsing that the Countess said she wanted to be cured of her bloodlust, would Van Helsing believe that? If he did, would he now feel that some should be helped instead of thinking they should be destroyed?

I feel like he would believe her, but still destroy her. As we saw the Countess couldn't stop her bloodlust, so I feel like Van Helsing would destroy her to keep everyone safe.

I still felt bad for the Countess because she really wished to be cured and have a "normal life". However, a happy ending (for the "villain") wouldn't be appropriate for a Universal Horror Classic.
