Loved it!

I absolutely loved this movie. I already liked the director William Wyler, and this was another great movie of his. The husband making the wife feel old is understandable as he was older than she was and ready for retirement. She wanted his retirement to be dancing and parties and travel. I think it also shows how couples have to get to know each other in a different way when they retire, because for years they get along a certain way, not spending as much time with each other. Then all of a sudden they are with each other all the time. It was almost like she was embarrassed of him when out with friends they met in Europe, and she was insistent that he go home and she spend the summer without him. I highly recommend this movie which actually won best picture in 1936.
