Alma Kruger, Mrs. Austin, deserved an Oscar for her part in this movie. She really told Walter Craig the truth in such a commanding yet kind way.

Jane Darwell is no slouch in this movie either. Her talking back to Harriet in such subtle ways is fantastic.

Alma Kruger is an excellent actress. Her portrayal as the grandmother in THESE THREE is perfect.
Jane Darwell is always a treat, and again, always excellent. Sweet (CURLY TOP), sad (THE GRAPES OF WRATH), gossipy (GONE WITH THE WIND), tough (THE OX BOW INCIDENT); she can do it all!
