Gogol 'reattached' Rollo's head?

Of course, we know that Gogol was Rollo in disguise to trick Orlac into thinking he killed his father, but that's not the point. I just find it crazy that Orlac would just accept that explanation without hesitation. "Oh, he was decapitated but Gogol sewed his head back on and now he's all peachy!"

I can accept it since suspending my disbelief isn't too hard with a movie like this. But still, it's absurd.

It was better presented in the original script, which was torn to smithereens because of the production code. Gogol re-attached Rollo's head by means of glass tubing to replace the severed neck veins. There are actually a few production stills floating around, showing Rollo on the operating table, with the neck brace on, and Gogol leaning over him.

It was filmed, but then cut. Instead, all we see is Stephen being placed under anaesthesia, then a cut to the sedated Yvonne resting, and then to a shot of Dr. Wong (Keye Luke)congratulating Gogol on his brilliant surgery.

Sadly, there was a lot of not so brilliant "Surgery" on the actual film.

"I do hope he won't upset Henry.."

It's very easy to identify with the police's disebelief when Orlac matter-of-factly claims "Gogol sewed his head back on!"
