Was this the way the studio got back at the typical stage mother's of the day ?

That was the thought process of the person who did the review for the Maltin Bann book. They said they knew that some of the dialogue she used as well as some of her mannerisms were taken from real life stage mothers they had to deal with.

So this was a cathartic get revenge, as in Julius Caesar, " Let us all wash our hands in Caesar's blood type of action !?!
