This question came up and I asked a bunch of folks and I like to get an answer from Doug for his ideas on this subject and anyone else I'd like to hear from on their opinions on this.
Do you believe that Spanky's mother actually learned from her comeupence or did she continue on her ways.Do you think her comeuppeance was to severe or what???

A great question ,my friend! It would be complete speculation to answer this one if She learned her leason or not. Actually as I've been told by many people is Spanky's mother was far gone from her predicament to even know what was happening the real last thing she probably was aware of was her dress being ripped off her. The act of kneeling on the stage and the stage prop being pulled in front of her is something she would have to have been told by others. Would she again try to live a life vicariously through her kid is pure speculation .
Was her undoing too severe or not - well that's a good one it would seem to be a real bad one as far as the rascals series went probably the worst, It would be fitting for her crime I would say. I too would like to hear rom other posters on these questions.
I would think she learned her lesson to some degree but the grandmother is the one who is to blame for exposing his mom. She didn't have to raise the curtain all the way up to as to ripp her dress off. I think she wanted to stop her daughter in law from ever pushing Spanky into something he didn't want to do. I think for a woman exposed like that must have been humiliating for sure. But I loved every second of it.
shareThe reason I asked this is as I spoke to people most said generally A tiger doesn't change it's stripes, meaning Even though she went through a wild ordeal Spanky's mother would basically be the same as she was before. This guys are speaking from real world experiances and not guessing from watching a video. I found it very hard to believe the fact that She would be the same after her stage ordeal. The numbers were overwhelming in favor of Spanky's mom not learning much from her stage show.

I find it very hard to believe that Spanky's mother would go anywhere near a stage after her experience. If at best she did put her son on stage she would never again attempt a rescue by going behind the stage curtain.
I say Spank's mom wouldn't go near a theater for the rest of her life after the experience she wen through. It makes sense that something happening like that would go through a community like greased lightning. Everyone within 1000 miles of her town would know all about it. She still might be a pushy bitch but not anyplace near a theater.

shareIt's been stated many times that the Roach Studio went to town to get even with the many stage mom's they had to deal with the actual character was a composite of many of the real ones they met. My son is too much of an artist to open a show,When the MC tells her Spanky's next she looks at him and says it's about time and the look when she thought Spanky was next and it turns out to be Daisy as she seemed and has a real puss on her face. I heard all 3 of these were real lines and actions they had to deal with and when she asks for the lights to be raised is another.
