What was the purpose of hitting the MC with a sand bag by Grandma at the end of BL? Was it for a cheap laugh? Or a message from Grandma to stop ogling my daughter? Since the intent of BL was to embarrass mom, we all thought they should have had the garden club in the audience, why not have the MC have his day and watch this girlie get stripped.

Grandma earlier stated "we never had an actor in the familY' yet she seemed to know her way around the theatre's backstage.
She knew how to handle those ropes quite well.. Nailing the MC as well as knew which curtain would snag her daughters dress and raise it.
I go with 1. a cheap laugh 2. a message to stop ogling Spanky's mother 3. payback for being such a skunk to Spanky's mother before and during Spanky's act. Ruining his watching of Spanky's mother's stage performance.
shareI don't think that the grandmother had any control over that sandbag coming down at all it was just a pure coincidence . She was hoisting that curtain as hard as she could and the bag just fell from the rafters.

He did deserve it for being such a pure scumbag to Spanky's mother .
It was just slapstick. It was all part of the comedy of errors that culminated in her dis-dressing her daughter on the stage. She didn't plan it but she could not stop laughing at the results. Sha had to hold on to the rope because she was laughing so hard at her daughter's predicament!
