When Spanky makes his stage entrance and stumbles on his long cloak
to me it looks like his gladiator outfit is more of a skirt and is basically opened at the bottom exposing his underwear while kicking wildly.
Also when shot with pellets, again he bends and exposes his rear and exposes his underwear...
It would have been more exciting to see Spanky's mom kick and scream just like Spanky...
Another idea that comes straight out of Ginsberg's book. His idea was the outfit Spanky wore was very effinate and it was made by his mothet except for the helmet ,sword and shield. So his mom dressedan him and made a laughing stock of him by what he was wearing . Also the point if him bending ovrr getting shot in the behind was very effinate as well.

Just my observations then that are pretty obvious then..
it would have been funny if when Spanky's mom turned her back to the audience as her dress was coming off, if she got pellted in the bum.
shareHoly cow Jaywer It really seems like u studied this Ginsberg book very well! It's hard to believe reading your posts it was like both came right out of the book. The rest of us have read his book so many times can't really understand it well.
shareI had the exact same thoughts Doug. It wasn't as crazy as if he mentioned one idea that Ginsberg had where the children performed on stage with a drab looking back curtain but when the Mother performs her act the curtain is gone or going up and the backdrop is a scene in a forest with tress and a stream. This point was not brought up by any poster.

Again,,honestly I did not read the book.but have found the posts about it fascinating..
Was it also mentioned that for all acts, the whole stage is brightly lit, yet for some reason the stage is darkened and Spanky for some reason comes out to a blinding spotlight on him.
I know posts have been mentioned where mom says to give him some light,, which will ironically play into the whole stage being lit up for her getting hers so all can see...
