Daisy Dimple And Spanky's Mom

Ok guys and gals..
This one may be a bit far fetched but I will put this out there for thought..
Again I did not read the book, only posts about it..Some points I may have stated over the years,......

I have noticed that both wear berets, and both carried a pole....

Both find it very important to win the "prize" and both have convinced Spanky in their own way how important it is for Him to Win The Prize...

I know its been discussed that "The Dress" to Daisy and also to Spanky's mom is
"The Prize."

The shrilling catcall sounds are used when Daisy freezes on Stage coincidentally are the same sounds as when Spanky's mom makes her stage appearance..

Now here is my thought that is a bit out there, that may or may not be in the book.

Perhaps the Daisy scene symbolizes Mom's past of never getting her own success on the stage..Both are failures under the spotlight...Both Daisy and Mom freeze while on stage,.,Perhaps Daisy's mom dressed in Coat and Hat is similarly dressed like Grandma in Coat and hat are one and the same person just in different times consoling their daughter's failure.

I have wondered why the crowd got on Daisy so viciously ..but perhaps the reason ia
because they are really howling at mom as they are one and the same person..

I know this one is far fetched..But as we now are learning, things in this short are always done for a reason..

Well jaywer some parts of your post were in Ginsberg's book. The mother wearing the beret like Daisy and both are carrying poles but the remainder is somethung that wasn't included.

I'm coming in trying to answer a couple of your posts in one long answer according to Ginsberg. Firstly when Daisy goes on the stage she sees the adult faces which seem to enlarge and she sees them staring at her. Daisy will not allow them to humiliate her and runs off the stage even thou they howl laffing at her it's over, now she must find someone else to win the prize for her.

When Spanky's Mother rushes on stage, yes she is dressed very similar to Daisy,
her mission is pure rescue. She has no intention of being seen by anybody in the audience. However, the Granny is not aware that Spanky and his Mother have allied themselves to win. Before this Spanky wouldn't care what happened to his Mother and would have loved to see her humiliated. This is the 4th time his mother is rushing to his aid. The 1st when the MC tells him his on first. 2nd is his run in with Alfalfa and lastly when the MC is telling him he won't go on. When Spanky frees his visor he sees his Mother 's dress is hiked and going up to the overwhelming joy of the audience and he doesn't like it. What actually is happening her rank in society, her dress , is being torn off her.

Ginsberg says Spanky knows his Mother is being ogled by the audience and he wants to save her this indignation. When the viewer sees the prop they say HA HA a fine sight gag. Then they think it's a dog's body and they say oh they made a bitch out of her HA HA HA. Then the viewer realizes the body on the prop is more like a lion and the connection The Sphinx. But on top of that ones sees the body is very much like a mix there is a lot of human female nude there too. Now Spaky's mother is nude with her legs spread out as far as possible, you can see the out line od breasts on it.
