Racist?
I believe that this movie has neo-nazi and white supremacist undertones.
shareYou might be onto something there.
Fans are clingy complaining *beep* who will never ever be grateful for any concession you make.
LOL ya think? Good film though :)
Did you ever notice that people who believe in creationism look really un-evolved? - Bill Hicks
Maybe you should actually watch the movie before you whine about it being Racist. The movie was not about Hitler nor anti-semitism/Nazism but about Germany taking all she can handle and finally pushing back like Twisted Sister song and screaming "We're not going to take it, anymore". The message of the movie is silimar to what you see in Braveheart, Exodus, Ten Condements, Downfall, Stalingrad, all John Wayne war/cowboy movies, Das Boat, The Patriot, etc. The original Nazis would propably kick the crap out of white trash lowlifes losers of today.

Of course this movie is pro-Nazi. It's the reason why it was made, to promote the Third Reich and to show the power of the National Socialist movement.
share The film is neither pro-Nazi nor anti-Nazi. It's merely a highly artistic, completely commentary free, documentation of the 1934 Nazi Party Congress. The Congress itself was obviously extremely pro-Nazi, because it was a Nazi political rally. But that doesn't make the film pro-Nazi.
As to racism, I'm sure the OP was trying to be cute because he knows that Hitler was a relatively racist dude, but in this case the OP's ignorance has caused him to fail massively. There is no racism in Triumph of the Will. The Nazis were very anti-Jew, but that topic wasn't touched upon at the rally and isn't present in the film.
Yeah, guys. I think Hitler was a pretty cool guy. eh hurt some jews and didn't afraid of anything...
You mustn't be naive. There are clear messages about Nazi ideology ("guard the purity of race", "glorification of the upcoming war") in the speeches. The film shows the crazy ideology in a glorified light. An uneducated or young and naive person watching this will root for Hitler and the Nazi ideology and aesthetics.
The fact it was used as a propaganda film in Nazi Germany proves my point.
The german intellectuals made the grave error of not taking hitler seriously. The laughed about him. Not for long.
Except that I think in 1935 it would have had nazi undertones rather than neo-nazi undertones.
