Hitchcock??

I got the 10cd collection for Christmas.
The family is watching out for Hitchcock's appearance.
But we cannot find him in "The man who knew too much."

Help us out if you can.

reply

I was wondering the same thing and popped in here hoping that someone knew. Oh well...

Judging from Alfred Hitchcock's profile under "actor", it doesn't appear that he had an appearance in this film.

reply

He's in the early scenewhere Leslie Banks is handing round enormous whisky-and-sodas to a roomful of police. The camera swings to the left and you see him in profile for about half a second.

reply

There are actually three shots of him, once from the front and then another as he takes the drink that's been prepared for him and then a final shot as he leaves the room

reply

Yes, the actor in those three shots does look like Hitchcock.

There is no known director cameo in this film. I have watched this film on a DVD with a very good transfer and am certain that Hitchcock doesn't appear in the scene referred to. There are several lists of his cameos on the web, but it is very enjoyable to spot them yourself. Many of his earlier films don't feature an appearance.

reply

The DVD I just watched has the cameo on special features. It is just after we see the assassin walking the street carrying what we know to be his gun case. There's a cut to a medium street shot and Hitch is crossing the street.

It's not a good print, and Hitch isn't recognizable. However, since he had been doing that for years, there must be a cameo somewhere.

I kinda figured those were his hands, holding the travel brochures, in the very beginning...

He who is tired of "Weird Al"... is tired of life.
