Criterion?
Is there a Criterion release planned? I love this film.. I think it's better than the remake, but my dollar DVD has pretty crappy quality.

shareNot sure, I think its been in the Public Domain for awhile. But Criterion did get The 39 Steps. I hope they do, their films are well done.
not a bad idea
All right ramblers..let's get ramblin'
Seth Gecko (FROM DUSK TILL DAWN)

"Up yours with a twirlin' lawnmower" - A Nightmare on Elm Street
I honestly can't think of a film that needs the Criterion treatment more than this. It is a fantastic film, but I for one am sick and tired of suffering through raggedy prints in revival cinemas, or a DVD where the image quality isn't a lot better, and the sound is inaudible in places. It's a great film, but almost impossible to appreciate with what we have at the moment, even for an absolute die-hard Hitchcock fan.
shareI also think this version of The Man Who Knew Too Much is a great film, but it definitely needs a restoration. The two public domain DVD's I have of it are very crappy quality. One of the DVD's has a jittery picture, and the other has an awful hiss in the background. They better hurry up and release a print that doesn't ruin your experience of the movie.
"You're on stakeout, Callahan!" - Magnum Force
I think that Criterion needs to do all of Hitchcock's films. Why not?
I watched The Man Who Knew Too Much here and can't complain too much about the quality:

"Do you really think it's cool to hit the sauce with a bun in the oven?"
Why not? He made a lot of films for one thing. And some of them are like Jamaica Inn, for another.
