How Did Jill Lawrence Know When To Scream?

How did she know when the assassin was going to fire? Who told her? And how did they know?

As far as I could tell, the only people who were in the room when Peter Lorre explained the perfect time to shoot were all in on it except for Bob Lawrence.

It probably occured to her that she is too far away to actually go to the victim who was getting shot, so instead she just screamed randomly, making the shooter only wound the target.

Nobody told her. She figured it out on her own and watched for when all the percussionists were getting ready for a big crash (we see shots of 3-4 poised percussionists right before she screams).

At least in the remake, I thought se just screamed upon seeing the gun.

I think she screamed at the moment she realized the shooter was about to fire, which causes him to miss--just as she missed during the skeet-shooting contest due to a minor distraction.

I think she was watching the movements of the gun barrel.

As a practised shot herself, she presumably thought she recognised the moment when the asassin had his final aim and was about to fire...

I haven't seen the orginal in years, absolutely loved the remake.

Day clearly screamed when she saw the gun.

AS it is, the scream of '34 was quite honestly nothing to yell about.
