Bo-Peep Hates Her Mother, Too?

I have always found it quite odd after Tom-Tom was taken away to Bogeyland, Bo-Peep would say "I hate you! I hate you!" to Barnaby, and then run to her mother and say "I hate you!" to her as well. I guess this was just her way of saying that Tom-Tom was the only person who mattered to Bo-Peep, and there could be no exceptions, not even her mother. What do you think?

Oh Brigy, I knew you would come through! Believe it or not, watching this as a kid, I actually thought that Bo-Peep was saying the 3rd 'hate you' to her mother! I did however enjoyed reading your theory.

Our seasonal friendship (from Thanksgiving to New Year's, encompassing such movies as 'Babes In Toyland', 'Scrooge', and 'Alice in Wonderland') has begun!

I also thought all of the "I hate you"s were meant for Barnaby as well. You don't usually say that to someone that you are clinging to for comfort.

Then again, mother peep was ready to pimp her daughter for the deed! (JK)

I always thought all three "I hate you"s were rightfully aimed at Barnaby. Why would she have said it to her mother?
I've watched this movie many times and never made such an observation.
