Fredonia State
I happened to go there for college. So upon hearing that the country was named Freedonia was quite amusing to me.

Apparently when this film came out in the 30's, the town of Fredonia was not amused.
They released a statement asking the Marx Brothers and film company to change the name of the country of Freedonia in the movie because it was "giving their town a bad name."
Groucho responded in kind saying "Change the name of your town, it's giving our movie a bad name!"
