Revival of true horror

If there was a revival of black and white horror films, a throwback to the hay-day of horror, where it was about characters, atmosphere, and mystery, how would they do at the box office? Obviously, if it were true to the classics, it would have little violence which would garner it a PG rating. Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on this. I am all for it, and would wish certain horror directors would step away from the gore at least once and take a stab at creating an old style horror film.

There is an up and coming director named James Rolfe; he has a website www.cinemassacre.com he has directed a lot of his own classic style horror movies; what he has on there just may be your style.

I would like for them to try it,, but most are probably not going to try it,, my choice would be,, Rob Zombie,, although he is all about blood guts and gore,, this guy has vision,, and is old enough to respect the legendary horror classics,, and young enough and bold enough to attempt and try it..
