Prince Edward Island Fox Furs Highly Stylish

Fox furs were highly stylish all over the world during first half of 20th
century. The style faded in 1939 just before World War 2. The best fox furs
were from Prince Edward Island where the foxes were bred and raised in pens
on farms. Some mating pairs sold as high as $50,000. The fox fur worn by Kay
Francis in this movie (1932) was exceptionally exquisite and she knew how to
wear it spinning it around to emphasize a point in the dialogue. As a boy on
PEI in the 1940s, my uncles, and most farmers, kept these foxes on a small scale
but by 1950, these fox farms disappeared. But the style lives on in the movies !
