Is this gonna be released on DVD by itself?
I already have the DePalma version on DVD and I don't wanna buy the Deluxe Edition and have 2 copies of it. Does anyone know if they are gonna put out the 1932 version seperately?

In Sydney, Australia a DVD of the original can be obtained from "Specials" bins for about $5 AUD in most stores that sell DVD's. It was released by Payless Entertainment on their "Silver Screen Classics" collection. I got mine from K-Mart about a year ago.
The original of course only has the movie in the DVD (93 mins) whereas Pacino's has over 50 minutes of extras - its' the old cliche, you get what you pay for.
I found the 1932 version at efilmic.com. It's made in Taiwan but the quality is reasonably good and the price is under $7 US dollars.
sharemy girlfriend got the DVD from somebody on ebay for me. it even includes an alternate ending. but they do make copies of it that aren't in the 1983 Deluxe edition box.
shareRumor has it that Universal was trying to gather up all the original production notes and stills from the movie to release a special edition. It was gonna have both endings, photo stills, a possible radio trailer broadcast, and movie poster. I haven't heard anything else besides that. Anything on the video game for the 1983 version?
shareThere is...I'ts called Vice City.
sharenot really grand theft auto vice city was just inspired by scarface the real scarface game is comming out in fall and its being made by vu games
shareIt's Coming Out January 1st now, I don't know how good it will be though. I think you start the game a little prior to Tony's mansion being invaded. I believe you get to blow the door open, and you have to kill the assasin in the Sunglasses...

Agree about the game. Its not gonna live up to the expectations that fans of the movie want to give it. Hope I'm wrong though.

The DVD version of the 1932 Scarface film is to be released on the 26th December 2005 on region 2. Here is a link with a picture of the cover

I doubt it. Luckily I found a copy used for $10. I guess some sucker bought the big Scarface gift set, and was too dumb to keep this DVD which was the only reason to get it in the first place. Bad for them, good for me. Now I have it, and don't have to worry about wasting a lot of money on that stupid set, or getting a region 2 version, or one of the bootlegs on eBay.
shareI live in New Zealand. I got a copy of this film for $5 at The Warehouse. It had prob the worst quality of picture of any film I've seen on DVD, still quite good but a bit grainy, the original ending, not the edited one, and no special features. Great Film. I would seriously consider buying a big special edition if one came out.

I'm in Australia, got a copy for $2 but the picture quality isn't great, looks like it's out of focus. You get what you pay for i suppose!
shareyou can borrow it from an online dvd rental site, then copy it
shareit is available here in the UK seperately.

My brother got this movie, which came in a croc-skin box with Scarface '83 and photos. I'm the only person in my family to have seen this classic. I used the opening theme-song for the beginning of a video of myself skating, and the title was black and white and faded in/out, just to throw in the classic feel.
Choke on 'em!
If you live near Chatswood,in Sydney, try Dick Smith Electronics on Victoria Road. I got a 2-movie DVD for $2 this week: Charles Bronson's "Cold Sweat" plus Paul Muni's "Scarface".
The bargain of the century !!!

Everyone talking about the game, wow, I thought about it the same way first, but damn it's a great game! The story's not some stupid idea, but it really works. I like it a lot, almost every review gives it 8's. Good game, real good for scarface fans.
shareI was lucky and found the DVD in a pawn shop, kick ass movie!
