With a rating of 7.9 ... why isn't it on the Top 250?
"Scarface" has a rating of 7.9. The lowest-rated film on the Top 250 has a 7.7. So why isn't "Scarface" on the Top 250 list? Anyone know? This has happened with other films as well.

shareBasically, it doesn't have enough votes. When IMDb's weighted formula for the Top 250 is applied, it brings the ranking down to just under 7.5.
shareIt's officially out on DVD today. I expected more special features/extras. All it has is the alternate ending & an "exclusive" introduction by TCM host Robert Osborne. FYI: there is no widescreen version, no scene selection, & no Spanish audio nor Spanish subtitles. Ay yiyi, Chi Chi! *BUT* it's still a friggin good movie!!
GO BUY/RENT IT THEN COME BACK AND VOTE

Any movie made in the 30s isn't avaible in widescreen. (the only exception may be "Napoleon" (1927) but it is way more than widescreen, it's like wide wide screen).
Also, maybe a year ago, it actually was in the top 250, then it was the remake, then both were not anymore in it... the list moves a lot.
I don't understand it either, I think largely because the DVD has only recently been released, and people haven't had a chance to see it.
Last film seen: Scarface, the Shame of the Nation 8/10
