One of the greatest gangster movies ever

I think this one really is. Howard Hawks made a great movie. This is the one that started it all. I will always consider the Godfather to be the greatest movie about gangsters, but this one is right behind it on my list.

I think this movie is much better than the Godfather.

People rate the Scarface remake with Pacino over the original. The original Scarface is way better. Without the original, there would be no Tony Montana. People don't seem to appreciate the original Scarface.

If they remade Scarface more like the original, who could you have seen as Tony Camonte? I think Stallone back then would've been a great Tony.

Yeah, Pacino and DeNiro also would've been great.

It is very different, but a lot of the story is taken from the original. They kept in a lot of the same dialogue from the original too. One thing I really hated was how they ended it with his sister in the remake. I thought that was a disgrace. In the original it was great the way they did it. I liked how she was going to shoot him, but couldn't. Paul Muni's performance was great when she got shot by the police. He was supposed to run out and try to shoot it out with the cops in the original Scarface. The censors wouldn't have it. The gangster couldn't go out looking heroic.

I didn't like how they had her shooting at him when she went crazy. I especially didn't like how she was saying "**** me." It's shameful compared to the original. The censors had a problem with the ending in the original Scarface how his sister was loading guns and helping in the end. Imagine if they saw the ending to the remake.
