Cameo appearance

I notice that Hitchcock's cameo in this film is unrecorded amongst the conventional lists. Hard to spot (but not impossible) on a TV quite evident on a cinema screen. Can it be that the generations of Hitchcock scholars have not watched this film intently?

Are you sure? Where abouts in the film is his cameo?

On the bus, middle of passengers, in a dark coat and hat, facing away, he bounces up & down; approx. four seconds.

The bum found in the house at the beginning of the movie had 3 things in his pocket: a ratty handkerchief, a length of string, and a photo of a young child who looked suspiciously like Mr. Hitchcock as a child. Is that it?
