Although this is supposed to be Mae West's big break
I'm surprised this movie didn't do more for Constance Cummings. The only other film I've seen her in was "American Madness" although she wasn't particularly memorable. But her character in "Night" had more charisma than Mae's "Maudie" did.
The only explanation I can think of is that audiences didn't approve of her marrying Dick Bolton for his money or the cavalier way she treated George Raft's character when he came to propose.
