Thumbs Up!

This film's a terrific showcase for Kay Francis, who is, as usual, dressed and groomed to the nines and looking fabulous. Too often, her films were serious and somber, making her pay for being a successful business woman. Here, she's vital, magnetic, and sexy, and well-matched by David Manners as her young secretary. They make a fine team. Andy Devine and Una Merkel provide fun, colorful support.

tag6t5 is absolutely correct! It is always a rare treat to have an unknown film(unknown to me at least) suddenly show up and entertain me.This is one of the better Kay Francis vehicles and the chemistry between her and co-star Dsvid Manners was palpable. Also it was interesting to see Andy Devine with an actual chin-line.

Very interesting to see a male secretary to a highly successful, yet very feminine business woman for that time frame.

And the clothes were simply fabulous!!!!

I had to leave for work, so I couldn't watch the rest of the movie.

I wish I could find this on video or DVD. Anyone know where???

Caught this last week on Turner Classic Movies and just loved it! Kay Francis and David Manners are strikingly attractive and have real chemistry, and the script is excellent. The supporting players are fun, too!

In the past year I've developed a great interest in films from the late 20s and 1930s. It's so interesting to see how society worked at that time, especially because my father was a young man then and it gives me a glimpse of the world he grew up in. Many of the films I've seen have scripts that are so well-crafted, they just put most of today's writers to shame.
