Mr. Hyde resemblance to Jimmy Carter

I was trying to figure out who Mr. Hyde sounded like and the closest I can think of was former president, Jimmy Carter. There is a small visual resemblance too. Everything thing else couldn't be more different of course. Maybe the actor and president come from the same part of the USA.

In the Spencer Tracy version, it seems to me that George C Scott is rather like Spencer Tracy. He could have done the role 20 or 30 years ago. He would have been great. Maybe Spencer Tracy was a favourite of Scott, because they sure have a lot in common, especially tone of voice.

The resemblance is only physical. Maybe just the eyes, or the jaw line, and maybe only a trace. There are no other resemblances that come to mind.

Carter was a great president and is still doing great work. I just ask the question of who Mr. Hyde reminds me of in terms of facial characteristics, and it just pops out that it President Carter, with the greatest respect. Resemblances are strange that way.

I think President Bush reminds me of talk show host Johnny Carson, in terms of looks. I think that's one reason Bush was elected - in the back of people's mind, Bush is like Johnny Carson.

Actually my first impression was Jerry Lewis in "The Nutty Professor"!

LOL! Yeah, his love of the Jews is so overwhelming, it just warms one's heart. Also, who didn't love those 18-20% homeowner interest rates, those high gas prices, etc.

It's probably the teeth. Carter is still doing great work, but was by no means a great president.

Actually....I always thought that the early mutations of Hyde bore a weird resemblence to Ringo Starr -seriously!

The scenes in the pub with Ivy and the first reveal of him as Hyde doing that freakish chicken strut...

I thought of Jerry Lewis too. In one of the transformation scenes, Jekyll/Hyde looks a bit like Steve Buscemi

hahahahahah. Yes, indeed. A complete twin of the NUTTY PROFESSOR! hahaha.
I always thought that was a weird movie with Jerry Lewis looking like that.
Maybe they were trying to do a funny re-make of Jekyll/Hyde? :^)

Steve Buscemi--lol! I actually thought he looked like Fred Stoller during the initial metamorphosis. Each successive time brought out new elements, hence so many comparisons.

I thought he resembled Jerry Louis

reply

Yep. The creators of Jimmy Carter did acknowledge the direct influence of this movie.

lol

Nah, he doesn't look anything like Jimmy Carter. He behaved like George W. Bush, though.
