Awful
I watched because it's a period melodrama and (partially) set in San Francisco... But it really is dreadful, with a boring alcoholic playboy and the woman who loves him. But also with the wealthy tyrannical father who has the boy shanghaied. Declamatory acting, bizarre behavior from all involved... It is a senseless mess that all turns out fine in the end because father really did know best.
