Correct commandment
What struck me about this film is the correct statement, by the Barrymore character, of the biblical proscription against murder, not "killing" as in the mistranslation of the Hebrew original in the King James bible. This mistranslation has lent credence to some mischievous views, such as the opposition to capital punishment which some advocates attempt to justify by citing the King James's "thou shalt not kill." In fact the biblical command of death as the punishment required for murder is unique in that it is repeated in each of the five chapters of the Torah, which comprise the bulk of the Christian scriptures: Genesis 9:6, Exodus 21:12, Leviticus 24:17, Numbers 35:16-21,and Deuteronomy 19:11-12, 21. Kudos to the screenwriter.
