he’s a ladies man so i figure he might try to smell nice but he’s also undead so he might smell bad or not even care.

He appears to be meticulous about his grooming and clothes, so he probably makes sure he's clean and doesn't have a bad smell.

I may be remembering this wrong but I believe in vampire lore, he does have an odor of death. Probably one of the reasons he does make sure he is clean and well groomed.
