At around the 30 second mark Jack Lemmon describes the ending and starts to cry.

Several years ago in Los Angeles, there was a screening of City Lights at UCLA's Royce Hall with a live orchestra playing the music of the film. The theatre, of course, was packed. There was not a dry eye in the house at the end. Probably the most memorable and emotional moment I've ever had while watching a film on the big screen.
