was so sweet I can hardly stand to watch her. But she made it all work IMO. Of course Chaplin really made it all work, I just mean emotionally, for me.
Perhaps the fact that I haven't seen her in anything prior to this helped a bit, I mean, it was much easier for me to really see her as the poor, blind girl who sells flowers. Either way, I think she was absolutely perfect for the role. She was so pretty, looked so sweet and was totally believable. She was, at least for me, the best thing about this movie. I wonder why she didn't become a star.

Me too. I mean I loved the movie overall, but I don't think it would have had quite the same impact if she wasn't as wonderfully sweet and pretty as she was. I almost fell in love with her myself. Harry Myers was brilliant too though as the drunken rich friend.
