The 'uncredited' character

When i viewed the picture this morning, i did so paying attention to its 'uncredited' character: the blackboard in the opening (classroom) scene. On it are several Greek words and phrases, which actually change during the scene. Later on, i believe during Paul's on-leave visit, some Latin makes an appearance. In its last appearance, the 'board is erased, with chalkdust left as a possible metaphor or reflection on what had been written.
My question is: what had those Latin and Greek words said? Were they pro-war? Anti-war? An iromic mixture of both?
