Blu-Ray
Does anyone know if this film is going to be released on blu-ray, in the next years
or if there is a restored HD copy available?
The film is now available on Blu-ray (at least in region 1). It is fully restored, and contains both a Blu-ray and DVD copy. The silent version is also included.
shareI just picked it up from HMV and it looks absolutely amazing! The PQ is unbelievably fluid... The caps below give you a good preview, but seeing it in motion is quite remarkable. Universal's restoration team really did a fine job on this classic, there's fine grain that is never too constantly present.

shareThis is a Blu-ray well worth getting. The picture and sound quality is outstanding, many shots looking as if filmed recently. Can't recommend it more. Don't hestitate to buy it. Universal is finally coming on strong with their Blu-rays. Can't wait for "Frankenstein" and "Dracula."
