All War Hawks should be required to see this movie
War is hell... and it is expensive. I am not sure why many Republicans are so eager to go to war.

Some people, having seen the movie "American Sniper", now think war is glorious and romantic!

I know many Republicans. .. AND Democrats. . Who liked American Sniper.... Because it was a well made film. I don't know ANYONE who thinks "war is romantic". People with a little intelligence should know that war is a necessary evil. Closing your eyes and pretending you have no enemies isn't the greatest strategy in the history of the world.
I'm gonna have to agree with Chisoxfan. It's too simple to say "all Republicans are bloodthirsty". Blanket statements like that illustrate narrow mindedness.
Sadly, most wars are unnecessary, and history just repeats itself. Even when they are necessary (hmm, can't think of any, except humanitarian intervention) there are no winners. Just losers all around.

shareThe OP was wrong in blaming only Republicans for war mongering, but he or she is right that this is one of the first and one of the most devastating cinematic depictions of the realities of war. Anyone who watches this and still engages in jingoistic war-drumming for whatever country or cause deserves a huge comeuppance. Hello supporters of ISIS and al Qaeda, Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.
