#59 Best Picture of The 20th Century

On the Classic Film board we have a running poll/game on the Best Picture Oscar Winners of the 20th Century and I was pleasantly surprised to see THE BROADWAY MELODY make to #59 out of 72 titles considering the bad rap it often gets from people who claim it is too dated and stiff to be enjoyed today.

Most PEOPLE are too dated and stiff today to be enjoyed.
They would never give this movie a 2nd thought. This film may be
from a different era, but it's still as modern as and much greater than any
garbage coming out of Hollyrude today.

I thought it was a good Best Picture, certainly in the same league as most of them that I've seen, and better than several (also worse than several).
