Everybody kisses everybody!

I just watched this enjoyable movie for the first time and I am a huge fan of Old Hollywood, still I cant recall any other movie where all the characters seem to kiss each other on the lips all the time, whether they are 2 women or a woman and a man that arent supposed to be in love. Was this normal in the 20s? I just found it kind of bizarre.

Pre-code movies were a lot more realistic.
