Good but nothing compared to other Keaton classics


Definitely worth a watch though. The score on the DVD is really bad IMO..too cheesey

I think this compares well against The General, and Sherlock Jr.

I saw the a 2004-copyrighted version in a cinema. They appeared to be playing a DVD of some sort, also containing Spite Marriage. The soundtrack was sort of cheesy organ music, but it does grow on you, and I ended up loving it.

I disagree. I've seen all of Keaton's features and think THE CAMERAMAN is his best work - the funniest and most emotionally involving with some truly great set pieces. The DVD does have a horrid score though so if you've only seen it with that score, then I'd say that's the problem right there.
