Does he play Herman?

Gary Cooper has a very brief scene when the guys are at the training camp. He comes into the tent, takes his flying helmet, salutes the main characters and leaves the tent. He then gets into his plane and crashes it, killing himself. Just by that scene alone you can tell that he would be a great actor. Very charismatic.

He was 'White' in the film. He comes into their tent and tells them he has to do figure 8s and that he doesn't carry anything for luck. He says when your number is up you're going to get it. He looks like Joe Cool. Go Coop!

Actually, he was asleep in the tent when Jack and Dave get to the flight training center. This is right after their fight scene in ground school. Its about 25 minutes into the flick.

I agree tmf. He was only briefly in the movie but one could tell he had talent. Too bad it took the producers a little longer to realize they had a great star right under their noses in this movie.
