Is this an anti-war film?
I'm not sure if I would consider "Wings" to be an anti-war film - at least not compared to "All Quiet on the Western Front" or "Westfront 1918". Except for Jack and David, almost everyone else is basically an extra.

shareNot an 'antiwar film'. More like showing the face of war.

I think it's more a love story, the same way I see it for Titanic.
shareWorld War I was such a pointless slaughter that it is hard to make a movie about this war without its appearing to be an anti-war movie. In fact, WWI is the ultimate anti-war war.
shareIf you're paying close attention, all war films are anti-war.
Perhaps the OP just wants to reach out for some sense of community.
Ultimately it is a love story ... but the ending is strongly anti-war.
SPOILER ALERT
When Jack returns to visit David's mother she says how she wanted to hate him for David's death but it was THE WAR to blame.
A statement that would have resonated strongly with audiences in 1927.
