I have downloaded on Emule a copy of the film. But I don't know which one it is. I don't see the name of F.F. Coppola in the end credits. However Kevin Brownlow is mentionned. I don't know is this is the 1981 cut or 1983 cut or any other version. If I upload it on a hosting website, could anyone tell me which version it is ? Thank you very much.
That is one of the beautifulest films I have ever seen.
"I don't have time for a drink with you. Have you got a phone number ?" The Mother and the Whore
It seems to me that the files uploaded on this website are the same I have found on Emule. They both have the same name.
This poster was having a very interesting conversation with duke-verity, who advised not to download these files. He thought that they were not safe and may contain viruses. He also said that dowloading this film is a fraud.
After opening the files and watching the complete film, I can assure that the files are safe, there is no virus in those.
I think he's right when he talks about fraud. But what the hell ? The film is not available anyway. This is the only way to see it. After watching the Coppola cut, you want to see the full version, don't you ?

When you click on the link at http://www.mundosilente.com.ar/filmo12.htm an error message comes on saying that the protocol, ed2k, isn't associated with any program. Also on a Mac, it says that Mac OS X doesn’t recognize Internet addresses starting with “ed2k:”. How else can you download these movies. I really want to see them and can't find any other place I can watch them for free.
guidofellini, Is there any possible way that you could upload the files somewhere or send them to us? As the above post says, that site is indeed a scam.
Thanks for that but there are not enough seeds to download it. Is there a possible way for you to put up the film on Google Video or Youtube. If you can, you should put it up under a code name so it will be harder for Coppola and Co. to find it. If you can, thank you very much.
Seeds are needed to download files. If there are no seeds, it is a dead file and can not be downloaded. Thank you for trying though. You could try uploading with seeds, though I do not know how that works. Google is the best option. There is no time limit but you should probably cut it into parts one and two to make it easier.
Thank you very much for your sincere help for the lovers of the version. In fact, I bought the 1 month Premium Membership at MegaUpload.com to download it. Is it 310 min or 330 min?

Well, I'm glad that you have the film. Are you familiar in the uploading of torrents ? If, the answer is yes, could make a torrent out of this film ? So that everyone would enjoy it. It would be great.
Is it 310 min or 330 min?
Ooops ! I have miswrote indeed.
First Part : 2:50:48
Second Part : 2:22:21
Which makes around 310 minutes. Sorry for the mistake.
Thank you again for your reply - Many thanks! I'd like to do it for everybody, but the fact is I asked my niece in Los Angeles to download it for me, for I have no internet available here at home and she did it for me down there in LA yesterday. I haven't seen it yet, but does the Finale of the version have the famous Triptych?
Ok. Do you know how I could add seeds to my torrent ?
Alas, that's the bad news. There are no tryptich in this version. I hope Kevin Brownlow will try to include it in a new version. I have read that even nowadays he discovers some new scenes or shots that were unavailable to him.
I think the version I have found has been released in the 1980s.
To add seeds you have to update the tracker on your torrent. This will automaticalley seed your torrent. That is too bad about the triptych as it is a wonderful scene and a wonderful piece of film history.
I am connected on torrent software 'µTorrent' (download it here : http://www.utorrent.com/ ) and someone is downloading the torrent file at the moment. I think it's working. Try it again.
I believe we all owe you on this. 'Napoleon' along with Mr.Gance's own 'La Roue' and 'War and Peace(Bondarchuk, Russia)' are my most treasured films out of thousands upon thousands of films I've seen. What I've heard is that they decided to air it in Full screen, for Mr.Brownlow didn't know what to do with that Tryptich even when they aired that complete version of it on British TV back in early 2000s. I think the version you've been helping us to watch is from early 2000s. It's ok with me 'cause I still have kept the one with Mr.Coppla which the Tryptich Finale is in.

I think this version has been aired on TV. In the ending credits, you can read : "A Thames Television presentation for Channel 4".
And after this, it's written "Thames Television Ldt. MCMLXXXIII"
These are roman numbers and it means 1983. It might be the 1983 version.
We need someone who has attended to the screening of the 2000 version to make a comparison.
