What happens at the very beginning and end?

The download I got from Archive.org was a bit cut off.

So I was wondering what happens at the very beginning before Keaton is in the office and gets thrown out.

And also is the very end when Keaton is kissing that one woman and all the soldiers are passing by? There was no 'The End' so I wasn't exactly sure.

Beginning: Keaton is shown on the train, pulls in to the town, goes to see the love of his life, her brother comes in and tells them that war has broken out, Her brother and Father go off to enlist, she makes Keaton go to enlist.

Ending: I think you have seen the ending, I think it just ends there!

This is from memory, so I may have made a mistake...its been a while since I saw it. Loved it loads though!
